About the programme
Advanced Software Engineering is a Master of Science at FHDW Hannover for developers who want to take on technical leadership. You learn to make sound technical decisions in large projects and steer their delivery, with a focus on modern software architecture, IT security and quality assurance for distributed systems such as web applications and cloud solutions. You also cover automation of development processes, agile project management and machine learning, applying AI-supported development methods in real projects. The programme has 90 ECTS over 18 months, including 15 months of lectures with practical parts, alternating each quarter between theory and practice; lectures are on Fridays and Saturdays, plus Thursdays in the first quarter, and can be streamed live. It starts in January, in Hannover or online. Graduates can move into software development, IT architecture or AI roles.
