About the programme
International Information Management: Linguistics and Intercultural Communication at the University of Hildesheim is a four-semester, full-time, on-campus Master of Arts taught mainly in German, starting in the summer or the winter semester. It takes a linguistic approach to intercultural communication, treating communication as culturally shaped social action, and prepares you for work in research, business and society in international settings. You deepen applied linguistics, intercultural communication research and cultural studies, and work in practice-oriented teaching research projects. Compulsory modules cover the foundations of intercultural linguistics, insights into information science, a minor subject such as business, IT, literature or social sciences, and a final module with the thesis and an oral defence. Electives include communication in institutions, media and discourse, linguistic diversity, and teaching German as a foreign language. It suits graduates aiming for corporate communication, publishing, intercultural training, HR or public relations.
