About the programme
The M.Sc. Computer Engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen is a four-semester, two-year programme worth 120 credits on the Duisburg campus, taught half in German and half in English, with a start in the winter or summer semester. It prepares you for demanding conceptual and innovation-oriented tasks in engineering-oriented computer science, independent research and later management roles. You choose between two profiles: Intelligent Networked Systems, with modules such as Internet of Things, Neuroinformatics and Distributed Systems, or Interactive Systems and Visualization, with modules such as Interactive Systems, Multimedia Systems and Scientific Visualization. A shared compulsory part covers component- and pattern-based software development, development of secure software and formal specification of software systems. A seminar, a practical group project and the master's thesis build your ability to present scientific topics, work in teams and carry out independent research.
