About the programme
Computer Science: Games Engineering (Informatik: Games Engineering) at TUM is a four-semester Master of Science with 120 ECTS that builds on your existing knowledge and lets you specialise. Depending on your chosen focus, you can study entirely in German or entirely in English, and you can start in the winter or the summer semester. Games rely on fast progress in computer science, from realistic graphics and sound to complex simulated worlds and new sensors for interaction, and games engineers keep both the technology and its users in view. Specialisation lines include computer graphics and animation, numerics and simulation, hardware-related programming, visual computing, autonomous systems, game theory and algorithmic economics, and interaction and communication. Guided research and interdisciplinary basics complete your profile, and the fourth semester is devoted to the Master's thesis. Graduates are in high demand at game development studios.
