About the programme
Nature Conservation and Landscape Planning at TUM is a four-semester Master of Science with 120 ECTS on the Weihenstephan (Freising) campus, available full-time or part-time and starting in the winter semester (October). German is the required language. It focuses on developing and applying conservation instruments and showing them in planning. The programme is project-based: the first two semesters centre on individual projects in landscape planning and nature conservation, and an internship abroad helps you understand habitats and species relevant to conservation in another country. You gain broad knowledge of plant and animal ecology and apply it in conservation strategies and spatial planning, including surveys, expert reports, modelling of trends in species and habitats, and planning for conservation or restoration. Graduates are qualified for senior roles in state, private and freelance nature conservation. It requires a Bachelor's in subjects such as environmental planning or ecology.
