About the programme

Digital Narratives is a full-time Master of Arts offered by the ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln. It is taught in English, takes 4 semesters and 120 ECTS, uses blended learning at the ifs site in Köln-Mülheim, and starts in the winter semester every other year. It is for media and creative professionals who want the theory and practice to engage critically with digital media and produce their own digital narrative projects. There is a special focus on immersive technologies, interactive storytelling and the impact of AI on media production, with projects such as XR, VR and AR work and interactive documentaries. Using a research-creation approach, you also look at the social, ethical and cultural effects of your work. You develop a Master's project with an allocated budget, and the programme can prepare you for practice- or art-oriented doctoral study.
