About the programme
Computer Science at TU Dresden is a research-oriented, modular Master of Science taught in English over four semesters, with part-time study possible. After the basics in your Bachelor's, it lets you specialise in areas such as automation, artificial intelligence, software engineering, hardware and software system architecture, logical modelling, distributed system architectures or graphical data processing. You choose between two tracks. In the Open Track you pick modules from three of eight subject areas, such as theoretical computer science and symbolic AI, or software technology and programming languages. The Distributed Systems Engineering track follows a set study path for analysing, designing and running distributed software systems. Both tracks share a research project in the third semester, general skills modules such as presentation, communication or foreign languages, and the Master's thesis and colloquium in the fourth semester. The third semester can also be used for a stay at another university.
