About the programme
Quantum Engineering is a Master of Science at Leibniz University Hannover, run with TU Braunschweig, for the "second quantum revolution": moving quantum physics from the lab into industry. It combines physics, mathematics, computer science and engineering and covers all four pillars of quantum technology: communication, simulation, sensing and computation. The programme has three core parts: required physics courses such as quantum optics and advanced solid state physics, physics electives close to current research, and electrical engineering electives taught by TU Braunschweig, which may mean some classes in Braunschweig. A lab course on digital hardware and data analysis, a compulsory project in a research group or an industry internship, a seminar and key skills complete it, and you finish with a research internship and thesis. It lasts four semesters and can be studied full or part time.
