About the programme
Mechatronics and Information Technology is an English-taught Master of Science (M.Sc.) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). It takes 4 full-time semesters (120 ECTS), you can start in winter or summer, and admission is not capacity-limited. You gain in-depth interdisciplinary knowledge from mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, information technology and computer science, preparing you for demanding work in industry and research. The core is a 60-credit field of specialisation with methodical and general electives and a lab course. You choose from vehicle systems engineering, energy technology, micro system technology, industrial informatics and systems engineering, autonomous systems and AI, automation, control and robotics, or design of mechatronic systems. A further elective area and interdisciplinary qualifications, round off your profile. A degree from outside the European Higher Education Area and the Lisbon Convention countries requires a passed GATE (electrical or mechanical engineering) or the GRE with set minimum scores.
