About the programme
Satellite Technology, full title Satellite Technology - Advanced Space Systems, is an international master's programme taught in English at the University of Würzburg. It was selected as one of the elite courses of the Elite Network of Bavaria. A partner network lets the programme organise meetings, lectures and excursions to institutions working on space missions, such as ESOC in Darmstadt and DLR Lampoldshausen, and helps students contact researchers about research work at partner institutions. Würzburg's space ecosystem also includes the Zentrum für Telematik and its spin-off S4, Smart Small Satellite Systems, which offer hands-on training during your studies and career options afterwards. The university has built its own UWE series of small satellites, starting with UWE-1, launched in 2005 as the first German pico satellite. The programme lasts four semesters and starts in the winter semester.
