About the programme

Financial Engineering is an English-taught executive Master of Science of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), run by the HECTOR School for working professionals. It combines finance theory, engineering methods, management tools and mathematical and computational techniques with new developments in AI and data science, taught hands-on in Python. You learn to solve pricing, hedging, trading and portfolio management problems with advanced mathematics and computing. The programme has five engineering modules, including digital financial markets, machine learning for data-driven decisions and alternative data, and five management modules such as finance and value and decisions and risk. Each module is a two-week block over 15 months, followed by a six-month thesis usually written in your company, for about 21 months and 90 ECTS in total. It starts each October and suits working professionals.
