About the programme

The MSc Computer Science at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) is a full-time, English-taught programme of 4 semesters and 120 ECTS, with a start in April or October. It gives you broad, in-depth knowledge of advanced and research-related areas of practical, technical and theoretical computer science. You take specialisations in Computer and Software Engineering, Intelligence Engineering, which covers topics such as big data and machine learning, and Mathematics, plus two subjects of your choice from the whole range of TUHH's technical subjects, for example to build a profile in medical technology or avionics. Compulsory modules cover operations and management and non-technical subjects. In the third semester you do nine weeks of project work, and in the fourth you write your thesis, which can be in English. A dual study variant is also possible.

all graduates of the Bachelor's program in Computer Science are admitted to the Master's program in Computer Science.

  • a valid IELTS (opens in a new tab) Academics result (at least 6.5 points)
  • a valid Cambridge (opens in a new tab) Certificate of Proficiency in English
  • a valid Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English
  • a valid " telc (opens in a new tab) English C1" result
  • a valid " UNICert (opens in a new tab) English level III" result
  • the IB diploma awarded by the “Organisation du Baccalauréat International” with the language of instruction being English (proof of the language of instruction must be provided)
  • Only for graduates of the TUHH GES/ES degree program: No separate proof of English language proficiency is required, provided that the degree was completed no more than two years ago.
  • only applies to TUHH graduates of other bachelor programs: English language skills can be demonstrated by successfully completing the TUHH English course at level C1.2. Please request a certificate for this at the end of the course.
