About the programme
Information and Communications Engineering is an English-taught Master of Science (M.Sc.) at HAW Hamburg on the Berliner Tor campus. It takes 3 semesters full-time (part-time status is possible), with starts in winter and summer. The course links electrical engineering, electronics, information engineering and IT. Modules cover communications networks, mobile communications, digital signal processing, high-frequency and microwave technology, and distributed applications such as smart homes and smart grids. Team projects and lab work take up about 40 per cent of the required modules, with a focus on implementing signal processing algorithms to solve communications problems, using industry-standard measurement technology and software. The third semester is a Master's project tied to research in the department. It suits graduates in electrical or information engineering or computer science with skills in C programming, signal and system theory and Matlab/Simulink. Requirements include English at B2.
