About the programme
Automotive Engineering is a German-taught Master of Science (M.Sc.) at HAW Hamburg on the Berliner Tor campus. It takes 3 full-time semesters, with starts in winter and summer. The department traces its roots to Hamburg's Wagenbauschule, founded in 1896, and most lecturers have years of industry experience. You choose between two focal areas: automotive body engineering, or powertrain and chassis systems. Alongside these you deepen systems management, business administration and general engineering sciences, with a wide choice of modules. It is designed for automotive engineering graduates who want to master scientific methods, qualify for doctoral study or move into senior management in the automotive industry; graduates of other engineering fields may also apply. Requirements include a 210-credit degree, English at B1 and, as an international applicant, German at C1. With a 180-credit Bachelor's you must make up 30 more credits to enrol fully.
