About the programme

Mechanical Engineering is a German-taught, four-semester Master of Science at Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da) that builds on basic engineering knowledge with a focus on sustainable product development. You follow your own interests through a wide range of core electives, such as eco-design, regenerative energy conversion, statistical methods and AI, or process control. Lab work, machines and modern modelling and simulation tools add practice to theory, and in scientific project work you contribute to current research while building leadership and teamwork skills. Industry contacts and the EUT+ university alliance keep the content practical and international. The programme usually starts in the winter semester, with a summer start also possible, and dual and part-time versions are available. It suits graduates in a technical engineering subject, such as mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automotive or polymer engineering. Graduates work in research and development, design, production and management.
