About the programme
Micro and Nanoelectronics is an English-taught Master of Science at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), on the main campus in Cottbus. It takes 4 semesters (120 ECTS) full-time (part-time status is possible), starts in the winter semester, and admission is not limited. It is aimed at physicists and electrical engineers who want careers in the semiconductor industry and research. Introductory modules level up prior knowledge, then you study three areas, technology and devices, circuit design, and applications such as communication, radar and sensor technology, choosing electives to set your focus. An interdisciplinary module, a research project and a final-semester Master's thesis complete the programme. Research institutes, including IHP, the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut and two Fraunhofer institutes, teach and offer places for your research module or thesis. Requirements include a related Bachelor's in physics or electrical engineering and a valid English certificate.
