About the programme
Mechanical Engineering is a German-taught Master of Science at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), on the main campus in Cottbus. It takes 3 or 4 semesters full-time (a dual work-study variant is also offered), you can start in winter or summer, and admission is not limited. The shift to renewable energy, the move of sectors such as steel, automotive and aviation towards a sustainable economy, and digitalisation all need engineers with new ideas, and this programme prepares you for them. It follows on from BTU's Bachelor's but is also open to career changers. The curriculum is aligned with digitalised mechanical engineering and gives you wide freedom of choice. Graduates work as research and development engineers, team leaders, project engineers or doctoral researchers. Requirements include a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering or an equivalent degree.
