About the programme
Mechanical Engineering: Computer-Aided Product Creation is a three-semester Master's at Albstadt-Sigmaringen University for mechanical engineering graduates interested in digitalisation and the use of computers in creating products and running production. You gain in-depth knowledge, independent of any one industry, of computer-aided design and calculation, simulation, virtual and augmented reality, and digital production chains. After a shared core, you choose a direction: Engineering, which deepens design, calculation and simulation; Digitalisation of production chains and Industry 4.0, covering digital automation, the Internet of Things and production simulation with a cross-programme Industry 4.0 project; or Sustainability, covering green technologies, material recycling, circular management and life cycle assessment. The third semester is for your Master's thesis. Graduates can go on to a doctorate, at Albstadt-Sigmaringen or elsewhere.

Prerequisites
Bachelor
The prerequisite for admission to the Master's programme in Mechanical Engineering at Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences is a completed university degree in a Bachelor's degree (B.Eng., B.Sc.) or Dipl.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering or a corresponding suitable discipline.
You need a successful subject-related bachelor's degree. If you have "only" a Bachelor's degree from a different subject (regardless of whether it is in the field), we offer you the opportunity of a subject-specific "lateral entry" via the so-called textile semester. This is a semester in which you will work on the textile basics by individually attending various courses from the Bachelor's degree (including examination) before starting with the Master's degree in Textile and Clothing Management. You determine which courses these are together with the Dean of Studies. If you already have questions about this, please contact tbm(at)hs-albsig.de (opens in a new tab)
The admission requirements are designed in such a way that graduates of other Bachelor's degree programmes from other computer science disciplines can also take up studies at colleges, universities or a vocational academy. The prerequisite for the scope of study is based on the previously acquired ECTS points and is set at 210. If this limit is not reached, missing ECTS credits must be made up during the Master's programme in the form of suitable modules from the Bachelor's degree programmes in consultation with the examination board.
It is a two-stage selection process. The selection is made in the first stage on the basis of the application documents submitted by the applicants. Selected applicants then have the opportunity to present their aptitude and motivation in an admission interview at the university and to get to know the degree programme and the university. An appointment will be made by telephone.
Applicants who have acquired a university entrance qualification outside the Federal Republic of Germany must have their university entrance qualification checked by the Studienkolleg Konstanz (opens in a new tab). This will check the university entrance qualification according to the evaluation proposals (ZaB). Information on the guidelines can be obtained from the Studienkolleg.
