About the programme

The Mannheim Master in Data Science is an English-taught Master of Science at the University of Mannheim, lasting four semesters (about 120 credits) and starting in September or February. The curriculum covers fundamentals in machine learning, data mining, data security and data management, plus a wide range of electives such as deep learning, text analytics, computer vision, process mining, reinforcement learning and optimisation. Through links with the schools of social science, business and humanities you can also take methodological and applied courses there. Each semester offers hands-on projects with partner companies in the Rhine-Neckar region, and many students write their thesis at a company. With 40 places a year, classes are small. Studying abroad and internships are optional. It suits students with a general understanding of statistics and mathematics.
