About the programme
The MSc Chemical Engineering at Ulm University is a research-oriented programme taught in English, worth 120 ECTS, and you can start in the winter or summer semester. It focuses on the chemical conversion of materials and the processes and equipment behind it, mathematical modelling of chemical processes, and reaction engineering for energy storage and conversion. Core areas include chemical reaction engineering, thermal process engineering and mechanical process engineering, plus electives. There is a strong emphasis on lab work: you learn to run experiments and to record and analyse data, and you finish with an experimental Master's thesis in an area or institute of your choice. It suits graduates with a solid background in mathematics, physics and chemical engineering who are ready to close gaps quickly through intensive courses. If you need a visa, the university advises you to apply as early as possible.
