About the programme
Chemical Engineering at TUM in Garching is a full-time, four-semester Master of Science with 120 ECTS, with a start in the winter or the summer semester. German is the required language. Run by the Departments of Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering, it combines the application-based methods of engineering with the more fundamental view of the natural sciences, and it is a qualification much sought after in industry. You choose to specialise in chemical process engineering, biotechnology, or catalysis and reaction engineering, and your choice shapes much of the content. The programme is international in outlook and comes with a foreign exchange programme, and a research internship carries substantial weight. The Master's thesis follows in the fourth semester. Graduates find opportunities in industry, at research institutes and universities, and in public services. Admission is through an aptitude assessment.
