About the programme
Data Science is an English-taught M.Sc. at RWTH Aachen University over 4 semesters with 120 credits, open without a numerus clausus and starting in winter or summer. Rooted in computer science, mathematics and statistics, it teaches modern methods of data analysis along with the algorithms and techniques used to build information systems. The core area of about 44 to 64 credits includes Introduction to Data Science, Mathematics of Data Science and a mandatory module on ethics, technology and data, plus a seminar and lab course, up to 12 credits of additional skills, and a specialisation area. You can specialise in computer science, mathematics, both together, business analytics, computational life science or physics, and the 30-credit Master's thesis can also be written in those application fields.
