About the programme
Data Science at Philipps-Universität Marburg is a project-oriented, four-semester Master of Science worth 120 ECTS, taught in German or English, with starts in the winter or the summer semester. You deepen and specialise in computer science areas such as data mining, efficient algorithms and data management, and add modules in machine learning, software development, scalable systems and big data technologies according to your interests. In the mathematical part you choose a major topic in statistical data analysis or scientific computing. The programme places a strong emphasis on independent scholarly work. It suits graduates who want to work on and lead projects that use scalable methods to analyse large and varied data, or simulation, in industry, business, science or public institutions, or to go on to a doctorate in computer science or applied mathematics.
