About the programme

The Meteorology Master of Science at Leibniz University Hannover trains you to do research and to apply theory in practice. You learn to observe, analyse and model meteorological and climate relationships, and you are prepared for the increasingly industrial and commercial job market in weather forecasting and briefing, the power industry, insurance, aviation and aerospace, and environmental and climate protection. In the specialisation stage, an overview module in advanced meteorology builds on your Bachelor's, followed by modern measurement methods and applied meteorology in line with your choices, plus a research and career orientation module and an elective subject. The research stage is mainly your Master's thesis on a current topic. Teaching is in German. The programme lasts four semesters and starts in winter or summer.
