About the programme
Landscape Development (Landschaftsentwicklung) at HTW Dresden is a three-semester Master of Science worth 90 ECTS, taught in German, full time and starting in the summer semester. It is about using land and natural resources efficiently and in harmony with nature, and protecting and developing our living spaces. You gain interdisciplinary knowledge in environmental sciences, learn to treat landscape development as a whole process, and develop workable concepts based on scientific analysis of environmental goods and ecosystem services. You learn to judge landscape change and competing land uses, and to use planning, modelling and visualisation methods, with communication with stakeholders playing a big role. Two semesters combine subject study and project work on ecosystems, economics, law and landscape planning, followed by the thesis. It suits graduates aiming to lead in authorities, administrations or planning firms for regional, urban and landscape planning.
