About the programme

Microelectronic Systems is an English-taught Master of Science (M.Sc.) run by HAW Hamburg together with West Coast University of Applied Sciences (FH Westküste) in Heide. It takes 3 semesters, full-time or with part-time status; you can start in winter or summer, with HAW Hamburg teaching winter semesters and FH Westküste teaching summer semesters. Lectures cover how integrated circuits are made and work, configuring and programming components and combining them into complex systems, with electronic design automation, computer-aided engineering and CAD. Labs and projects use industry-style development software, and the focus runs from production techniques and modelling new components to applications such as digital signal processing. You write your Master's thesis in the third semester. It suits graduates in electrical engineering, information engineering, IT engineering or mechatronics. Requirements include English at B2; with a 180-credit degree you earn 30 more credits in the first two semesters.
