About the programme
Environmental Engineering is a German-taught Master of Engineering at Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da) focused on using resources efficiently, keeping raw materials in the material cycle and using their energy potential, for example through combustion or fermentation. You deepen your knowledge for planning, building and running recycling, biogas, sewage treatment and other environmental plants. The modular structure lets you specialise quickly, many students work on real projects in practical phases, and seminars, lectures, exercises and labs are complemented by interdisciplinary modules on the social side of the profession; the final semester is for your thesis. It lasts three or four semesters, starts in winter or summer, and can also be studied in a dual format. It suits graduates in environmental engineering. Graduates work in water, waste water and recycling, plant engineering and public administration.
