About the programme
Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology is a German-taught Master of Science at Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da) that gives you broad knowledge across both fields. The three-semester programme focuses on bioprocess technology and process analytics, process modelling and simulation, statistical methods, database management, hygienic design and natural product chemistry, with an optional specialisation in chemical technology. The order of the first two semesters is free, so you can start in October or April: the winter semester centres on bioprocess technology, statistics and databases, the summer semester on process analytics and modelling. The third semester is for your master's thesis, on your own or with partner institutions or companies, and a dual format is available. It suits graduates in chemical technology, biotechnology or a related field.
