About the programme
Forensic Sciences and Engineering is a German-taught Master of Science at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), offered on the Cottbus campus and online. It takes 3 semesters full-time (part-time and continuing-education formats are offered), and starts in the winter semester. The programme gives you advanced knowledge of forensic matters, especially the scientific, engineering and legal questions that arise in criminal investigations and proceedings. Courses cover crime scene investigation, law, quality assurance and methods of forensic analysis, and you learn to keep building your forensic knowledge independently after graduation. Graduates work in criminal investigation agencies, chemical or biological investigation offices, or analytical roles in chemistry, biology and physics. Requirements include a first degree of at least 180 credits in natural sciences, engineering, law, economics, medicine or psychology, and at least one year of professional experience.
